Blue Toe

What is Blue Toe Syndrome?

Basically, there is not enough blood flow to your toes.

Blue Toe Syndrome is characterized as a discoloration of your toes caused by a blockage of the small blood vessels.

If the cells and tissues do not get enough oxygen, they will turn blue.

In most cases, Blue Toe Syndrome is caused from a blockage in an artery - Cholesterol embolism - further up the leg and/or in the capillaries of your feet.

Blockages can be from small particles of arterial plaque that get dislodged and move around the circulatory system, only to get "stuck" somewhere else.

Prognosis is usually very good in mild forms of the condition where just the toes are affected.

In more severe cases, the pain in the toes is disproportional to the degree of blue discolorations.

If the kidneys are affected, a good prognosis is more challenging, as there is the possibility that the condition will worsen to gangrene and even amputation of the affected toes.

Condition is most common in adults over the age of 50.

    Treatment for Blue Toe Syndrome:

If you suspect you have Blue Toe Syndrome, we highly recommend you see your doctor.

This condition should not be taken lightly, as it could indicate other medical conditions - especially with your kidneys.

Some physicians may perform minimally invasive vascular procedures to help unblock the clogged artery in your legs.

What Prolotex™ Infrared Socks do to help

Prolotex™ specialty socks are impregnated with a safe formula of bio-ceramics that emit beneficial far infrared rays (FIR).

These waves of soothing energy penetrate deep into the tissues of your toes and basically increase (stimulate) the molecular activity of the cells.

The stimulation of the tiny capillaries and veins in your feet dilate the cells and allow fresh oxygenated blood containing vital nutrients to reach afflicted areas. Circulation is Promoted, swelling and inflammation is greatly reduced, and the pain subsides.

Far Infrared Rays are very helpful in reducing inflammation and relieving your pain. Depending on the severity of your condition and how long you have been experiencing symptoms, it may take a bit longer to feel the benefits of natural FIR therapy.
